Shannon Crowley started Starch Slides after witnessing first-hand the abundantly high levels of textile waste in New York City.
Based in Brooklyn NYC, she sources unwanted button up shirts from second hand shops throughout the US and repurposes the fabric into simple, limited edition flat mules, for women.
The fabric from each shirt can be used to make on average 4 pairs of mules and it is lined with vegan leather in the process, to make it more durable. Due to the nature of the fabric sourcing, only a handful of pairs in a specific colour and pattern can be made.
Starch Slides are made in China in a small factory run by women.
